4	Slices bread (homemmade
	-whole wheat is best)
3 oz	Cream cheese, softened*
4	Ham, thinly sliced
1	Butter (for cooking)

's note:" many markets carry fresh cream cheese, which is much better than the foil-wrapped variety.
" Spread each slice of bread with a rounded tablespoon of cream cheese and then put two ham slices on top of two of the slices of bread and top with the remaining slices of bread.
Melt the butter over medium-low heat.
Place the sandwichs in the pan and fry gently until the bottom is golden, pressing down on each sandwich occaisionally with a spatula-this will help melt the cheese.
Turn and fry the other side.
Serve warm.
