Pennsylvania Dutch Sandwiches Recipe


Recipe serves:
Pennsylvania Dutch Sandwiches Ingredients:

8 oz Swiss Cheese, julienned
8 oz Boiled ham, julienned
1 c Mayonnaise
8 oz Can sauerkraut, well drained
Scant teaspoon caraway seed
-(optional)
12 sl Dark rye bread

Pennsylvania Dutch Sandwiches Instructions:

"This unusual combination for a sandwich makes a hit every time they are served.
They taste best if prepared one day ahead.
" In a medium bowl, combine everything but the bread and butter.
Chill overnight.
Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
Top with cheese-ham mixture and another buttered slice of bread.
Note: Party rye slices can be used instead of conventional rye bread.
